Creamy Horseradish Sauce Recipe

If you love to dip your beef, then there's no doubt that you have had horseradish sauce at least a time or two in your life. This wonderful sauce has such a distinct flavor thanks to the bold horseradish. And, there are plenty of other uses for it other than using it as a dip for your beef. Many people also love to use it as a spread on sandwiches or even as a dip for french fries or other appetizers. Plain and simple — it's one of the best "dips" out there.

Recipe developer Christina Musgrave came up with this delicious and easy recipe that allows you to make one of the most popular sauces in the comfort of your own home. "I love horseradish sauce, so I love that this recipe is super easy to make and tastes delicious!" Musgrave raves. She also explains why homemade is always better than store-bought. "Homemade is going to taste fresher, and it allows you to add as much (or as little) horseradish as you like," Musgrave shares. As for the flavor? Musgrave raves that it's "tangy, a little spicy, and creamy."

Gather the ingredients for this creamy horseradish sauce

This sauce packs a lot of flavor, so you will need a few ingredients to get it just right. Grab sour cream, mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, Dijon mustard, sherry vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. "The secret ingredient is sherry vinegar. This gives it just a little added element of flavor that is delicious," Musgrave notes.

Once you have those items, you can make this creamy horseradish sauce.

Add the ingredients to the bowl

Select a bowl that is big enough to fit all of your ingredients. Then toss in the sour cream, mayonnaise, prepared horseradish, Dijon mustard, sherry vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.

Then, sprinkle a little bit of salt and pepper to taste.

Whisk the ingredients

Use a whisk to mix the ingredients until they are combined. "Just whisk until everything is combined, about one minute," Musgrave shares. The whisking is the most labor-intensive part of the recipe, making it pretty simple.

Transfer to a bowl and serve

Once you finish mixing the ingredients, transfer the contents of the mixing bowl into a serving bowl.

Now, you can use this creamy horseradish sauce as you wish. "The classic pairing with this is steak or a roast," Musgrave shares. Of course, you can also pair it with anything else you see fit. Some people like to use a little as a spread on the sandwich while others dunk their fries in it. Truly, it makes everything a little bit tastier.

Storing leftovers

The great part about this recipe is that you can keep leftovers for a few days, which means you can make it ahead of time if you want. "Store in an airtight refrigerated container and keep for 2-3 days," Musgrave shares.

We hope this creamy horseradish sauce hits the spot!
