Aldi Employees Can't Stand This Customer Checkout Scheme
by AMBERLY MCKEE and MARIA SCINTO
Whether items are limited as part of a discount or due to a nationwide shortage, trying to ring up more than the posted amount at grocery stores like Aldi is a waste of time.
Aldi employee JK told Insider that when customers exceed the limit, "...we have to ask them to leave the excess at the register. This makes the employee look like the bad guy."
Where some customers try to weasel their way out of purchasing limits, others wish they'd be enforced on a larger scale to help prevent customers from buying in bulk for resale.
With self-checkout stations becoming more prevalent, some shoppers think they can bypass the item limit, but this may provoke disapproval from other shoppers.
