All The Tea Behind Madonna’s Week-Long Career At Dunkin’
By ALLISON LINDSEY
Before she was the Queen of Pop, Madonna was just your average American 20-something trying to get by. To survive her starving-artist era, she worked odd jobs including waiting tables, nude modeling, and a short-lived stint at Dunkin’ Donuts.
In a 2015 interview with Howard Stern, Madonna reminisced on her time at the popular coffee chain. According to the star, after she was caught playing with the jelly-squirter machine intended for filling pastries with jam, her boss sacked her for not taking the job seriously enough — she had only been working there for one week.
Squirting jelly everywhere might not have been a smart move, and Madonna was also fired for wearing fishnets while working at a Russian tea room. However, in her music career, she exuded the same provocative air and theatricality that once got her fired, and will now go down as one of the greatest musicians of her generation.
