In a December 2023 conference call with investors, executives, including CEO Rick Cardenas and CFO Raj Vennam, laid out plans for how the restaurant would look and operate in 2024.
Open Hours
"We eliminated lunch wherever possible," Cardenas announced. This likely means some items will fade from availability, like Ruth's Prime Burger and the Seared Ahi Salad.
After trying it in 2023, the chain will close for one particular day in 2024. "We will be closing most restaurants on Christmas Day," Cardenas revealed.
Better Filets
Among the first changes made upon the acquisition of the steak house was an improvement in its steak filets, a popular menu item chain-wide.
"One of the investments we made was an improvement in their filet," Cardenas said, suggesting that the rollout of better beef will reach every restaurant in the network in 2024.
No Deliveries
Ruth's Chris endured the pandemic by partnering with food delivery services like Grubhub, Uber Eats, and DoorDash, but their service fees imply inflated menu prices.
Delivery via an app is no longer an option at Ruth's Chris. Cardenas explained that the performance of restaurants with and without the service isn't significantly different.
