Celebrity chef, restaurant owner, and food TV fixture Bobby Flay is a New Yorker at heart — his accent still has traces of the city and his career was built in the Big Apple. Recently, Flay shared one of his favorite late-night snacks on Instagram, and it's a "city that never sleeps” classic.

"I'm making a classic bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with ingredients from my Misfits Market box… one of my favorite snacks [...] especially late night,” Flay says in the post. He tells viewers that he grew up eating the staple NYC combination of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches, especially after a night on the town.

Flay's version starts with a brioche bun from his Misfits box. He fries the bacon first, followed by the eggs, and notes that he uses American cheese. Surprisingly, he adds two spoons of harissa, a condiment he describes as a spicy North African ketchup, on each side of the roll before building his sandwich.
