Brain Hemorrhage Shots Are The Halloween Drinks That Taste As Scary As They Appear
By HANNAH BEACH

Spooky drinks are a must for the Halloween season. Among the creepiest beverages you can mix up is the brain hemorrhage shot, known for its bleeding brain-like appearance.

This drink calls for only three ingredients: peach schnapps, Baileys Irish Cream, and grenadine. Start by pouring chilled peach schnapps into your shot glass, about halfway up.

Then, using a cup, spoon, or syringe, slowly pour the Irish Cream into the shot glass in a circular motion to create suspended white "brains" floating in the schnapps.

Adding a final splash of grenadine syrup, with its bright red color, will make the brain look as if it's bleeding as the crimson liquid pools on the bottom of the shot glass.

The flavor of the finished drink is also not for the faint of heart. It has a clumpy, thick, creamy texture with a bit of a sour dairy flavor, so it may not be a party crowd pleaser.

Other variations of this drink include zombie, alien, and monkey brain hemorrhages. The zombie shot includes crème de menthe for a green color and minty flavor.

The alien version adds Blue Curacao, and a monkey brain shot starts with vodka and lemon juice instead of peach schnapps, followed by the Baileys and grenadine.
