Over the years, Milky Way has released plenty of limited edition bars — including a Milky Way Marshmallow variety in July, 2015, and a seasonal offering of Caramel Apple Minis that were introduced in the fall of 2012. In 2023, however, a new type of Milky Way will be joining the roster, and this one might be here to stay.

Instagram user @markie_devo revealed in their post that a Milky Way Cookie Dough Candy Bar will be entering the galaxy in 2023 — the same year as the brand’s 100-year anniversary — and it will likely have cookie dough in place of its usual nougat. According to the Instagram post, the upcoming bar was publicized at a snack expo.

The official release date of the new bar is unknown, and since the box showed no 'limited edition' label, it may be permanent. Fans of cookie dough and Milky Way rushed to express their excitement on the post, with one user commenting, "Omg I need these in my life," while another wrote, "[I] can't wait for these," with a heart-eye emoji.
