Don't Skip This Step When Roasting Potatoes
By CHASE SHUSTACK
We can all struggle getting the crispiest roasted potatoes when cooking. Luckily, there are some ways to ensure that you get the crispiest potatoes possible — and they’re quite easy.
If you want your food to be crispy, you probably think “more heat equals more crisp,” but there is a better way. If your potatoes aren’t coming out of the oven crispy, you need to preheat your pan before roasting your potatoes.
RealSimple recommends heating your pan for 10 minutes, give or take, which will lead your potatoes to start baking the moment they touch the surface, and will give you golden-brown potatoes faster. If you have a little more time, you can even boil the potatoes, toss them in fat, and roast them for a crisp exterior and fluffy interior.
