Duff Goldman's Alice In Wonderland Cake Is Turning Heads
By KAREN HART
The former “Ace of Cakes” host, Duff Goldman, who was chosen to make President Obama’s 2013 inauguration cake, knows that presentation is everything and his cakes deliver. He shared his latest creation based on the iconic Lewis Carroll story, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” on Instagram, and fans can’t contain their enthusiasm or stop raining praises on the cake.
In the style of Disney’s adaptation, the “Alice in Wonderland” themed cake features a classic three-of-hearts card as the base with Alice and the story’s caterpillar sitting on top of a teacup. The white rabbit and his pocket watch, the Mad Hatter and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, also appear on the cake and a message reading, “Happy Un-Birthday Mallory!”
This isn’t the first time Goldman fans have seen this literary-themed cake, as Charm City Cakes posted a photo of it at the end of May. It almost looks too good to eat as one fan stated, “I wouldn’t be able to eat this. I would shellac it and keep it forever!” Goldman has also used Alice and her friends as inspiration before in a cake-off episode against Buddy Valastro.
