Duff Goldman's Disguised Cakes Are Blowing Instagram's Mind
By ADRIANNA MACPHERSON
Disguised cakes — cakes that don't actually look like cakes — have been trending for a while, and celebrity baker Duff Goldman has jumped on the bandwagon, too. Goldman tasked his talented staff at Charm City Cakes to create some truly show-stopping disguised cakes for the International Baking Industry Exposition.
Goldman treated his 741,000 Instagram followers to a slide show of the countless cakes for the expo, made to look like various items — such as pies, loaves of bread, a teacup filled with tea, a globe, and much more. Fans commented with praise, including one fan who punctuated a comment with three mind-blown emojis.
The Charm City Cakes team even shared a glimpse of the baking process on Instagram — like using a spray paint gun to create a certain appearance and texture. The International Baking Industry Exposition also posted on Instagram, showing Goldman meeting with fans and playing with his band, Foie Grock, on the main stage.
