Here’s What Angela Lansbury Typically Ate In A Day
By GILLIAN KING
Beloved star of stage and screen Angela Lansbury, famous for roles such as Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She Wrote,” passed away on October 11, 2022. Food was an important part of her life, and in the accompanying video to her 1990 self-help book, “Angela Lansbury’s Positive Moves,” Lansbury said that she was a big believer in the power of fruits and veggies.
Lansbury would start her days with orange juice and a hefty helping of cantaloupe and banana, papaya, or honeydew, and for lunch she stuck to veggies, whether in salads, sandwiches, or soups. For snacks, she’d have an apple, an orange, or strawberries before lunch, and a cup of tea and an oatmeal cookie or homemade muffin at teatime.
For dinner she enjoyed sliced tomatoes with basil and olive oil or a salad for starters, followed by five ounces of chicken, turkey, or swordfish with steamed veggies on the side, and a dessert of bread and jam, fruit, or tofu ice cream. Lansbury loved to bake homemade bread and to indulge in a glass of wine — a practice which she credited with keeping her young.
