Celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s list of favorite foods is long and varied, and he definitely takes health and nutrition into consideration. Amongst all the dishes he cooks at home and serves in his many restaurants, his favorite recipe that he places above all the others comes from his first eatery, Mesa Grill.

When asked about his favorite dish in an interview, Flay says it's the shrimp and roasted garlic tamale from Mesa Grill. At the 2009 Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Flay's excitement about cooking his "signature dish" was obvious as he turned corn husks, masa, and butter into the Southwestern seafood extravaganza.

“This is my favorite part,” Flay said gleefully when it was time to taste the dish. As someone who got his start in Southwest cuisine, it makes sense for Flay's favorite to be a tamale; the Mesa Grill location that first served this dish has been replaced by Amalfi, another one of the chef's restaurants, but Flay's love for the recipe lives on.
