Tuna salad has been around for a while, so it makes sense that it has countless variations and regional differences. Plenty of professional chefs have their own spin on the dish, and Jamie Oliver has a particularly unique version that takes it to a whole new level.
When Jamie Oliver makes tuna salad, he's not just throwing canned tuna and mayo in a bowl with some spices. According to Celebrity Detective, Oliver uses tuna steaks instead of canned tuna and adds yogurt and basil sauce for some added flavor.
However, the most unique aspect of Oliver's tuna salad is the addition of asparagus, which provides a healthy serving of fiber and provides a contrasting texture to the dish. If you don’t have asparagus handy, Oliver suggests using "a good handful of green beans instead."
