Marinara sauce is a classic sauce because of its taste and versatility, but it gets tiring if you have too much of it. Instead of marinara sauce, try using mushroom gravy.
Mushroom gravy can replace marinara, and it’s super easy to make. It is loaded with umami flavor and naturally contains lots of glutamates that make it savory.
The recipe needs a pound to a pound-and-a-half of fresh mushrooms, but you can always dice up portobellos, creminis, morels, or porcinis for more meat.
