Italian immigrant Italo Marchiony claimed to have created ice cream cones in 1896, but he didn't receive a patent until September 22nd, 1903, the day that is now celebrated as National Ice Cream Cone Day. To commemorate this holiday in 2022, a well-known brand is offering hot deals while it's still a bit warm outside.
From Sept. 22 to Sept. 30, Baskin-Robbins is offering a free kids'-size cone when you spend $15; to activate this deal, you must use a special coupon on the BR Mobile app. Additionally, you can receive $2 off a BR's Banana Royal, which consists of two scoops of ice cream, banana slices, chopped almonds, and toppings of your choice.
On Sept. 22, Blue Bunny offered free ice cream cones through DoorDash, but states with prohibitive dairy laws, including California, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, and Tennessee, were excluded. Artisan ice cream chain Van Leeuwen offered free waffle cones as well, but their stores are also only available in certain states.
