The chicken sandwich wars began as a marketing trend of various chicken-centric fast food chains vying for supremacy. Many fast food giants like Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, and McDonald’s joined the bandwagon, and it looks like another chicken war is brewing among fast food chains.
Big-time players in the chicken chain scene are introducing fried chicken nuggets to their menus to attract a younger generation of customers. KFC has launched a limited-time test in Charlotte, North Carolina, while Boston Market has unveiled a healthier option with its spicy Rotisserie Chicken Nuggets.
Other giants followed suit, with McDonald's re-releasing its Spicy Chicken McNuggets, while Burger King introduced its Ghost Pepper Nuggets. Wendy's already has Spicy Chicken Nuggets, but the brand cranked the heat up another notch when it released a Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce.
