The Most Karen Moment Ever Caught On Tape At Costco
By ASHLEY STEINBERG
Although it started as a meme, “Karen” has officially entered the lexicon, with a Dictionary.com entry defining it as slang for “an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way.” There have been many examples of Karens in the wild, but Costco caught what might be the most childish Karen moment ever on tape.
Unsurprisingly, the incident occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, when one Karen refused to wear a mask while shopping at Costco. At the Costco in Hillsboro, Oregon, one woman was asked by an employee to put her facemask on while shopping; after arguing, the woman sat down in the middle of the store in protest instead of complying.
The woman alleged that she had a medical condition that hindered her from wearing a mask. She later moved to sit in another location, blocking the main path for other shoppers. While the video doesn’t show the end of the situation, she certainly isn’t alone, as one Karen in a Texas grocery store began throwing food to get her way.
