Over the past 10 years, Chick-fil-A has made regular, strategic changes that have made the chicken-slinging fast food chain one of America’s favorites. However, not all change is good change, and Chick-fil-A’s removal of their coleslaw from the menu proved just that.
After 50 years of success, the decision to take the Chick-fil-A coleslaw off the menu was made on Jan. 18, 2015 and met with much disappointment. The fan-favorite coleslaw had been on the menu since the first Chick-fil-A opened in 1967. Instead, a new era of kale took over.
In an attempt to become healthier, Chick-fil-A introduced the Superfood Side salad in 2016. Despite customers asking to “BRING BACK THE SLAW!!!,” the company stuck with the salad. To appease heartbroken fans, though, Chick-fil-A shared their secret coleslaw recipe with the public.
