Due to a drop in profits during the COVID-19 pandemic, many fast food chains either cut down on their breakfast menus or axed them entirely. However, as the world begins to open up again, many establishments are racing to cash in on breakfast once more, including Burger King, which has a new "piping hot" offering for its Royal Perks members.
Members of Burger King's Royal Perks program can now claim a free three-piece order of "piping hot" French toast sticks if they spend $1 or more. The exclusive offer ends on August 31, 2022, and purchases can be made through the app or online, but must be ordered during breakfast hours to be eligible.
BK's new perk may be a clap back to Wendy's, which started selling their own French toast sticks earlier this month. In 1985, Burger King not only became the first fast food chain to offer these syrupy breakfast treats, but even pioneered "dripless" maple dipping sauce to go with it. It looks like the King is looking to reclaim his crown right about now.
