The Purple M&M Is Already Getting Shipped With A Fast-Food Mascot
By KIMBERLEY LAWS
The Purple M&M is the newest member of the candy’s mascot posse, introduced via a video of her singing an original song, “I’m Just Gonna Be Me,” with Mars donating one dollar to Sing for Hope every time the video is streamed. Her fellow M&M’s accepted her with open arms, but they’re not the only ones excited about the new mascot.
Folks on Twitter seem eager to make Purple a match. McDonald’s replied to a photo of Purple posted on Twitter, saying, “Her and Grimace would be friends.” The “likes” poured in, suggesting that many agreed, especially after M&M responded, “We think so too.”
Grimace’s identity has always been up for debate — officially, he’s a giant taste bud, but that wasn’t confirmed until 2021. Still, he and the purple M&M have a lot in common, including successful ad campaigns. Hopefully, someday McDonald’s and M&M’s will unite the purple pair and give the Internet what they want.
