Sprite is one of the most popular and highly enjoyed soft drinks around the world, with millions of consumers buying it on a yearly basis. However, if you’ve ever been to McDonald’s and ordered the beverage, you’ve probably noticed it tastes a bit different.
Many have described McDonald’s Sprite as tasting zestier and crisper than it does in bottles or cans. So what makes it taste so different when you order it at the fast food giant?
McDonald’s uses a high syrup-to-carbonated-water ratio, which results in a significantly sweeter version of the beverage than what many are used to. The restaurant also uses high-end filtration systems to filter its water, which also contributes to the different soft drink taste.
