The State That Has The Most Walmarts

No matter where you go, you'll almost always come across a Walmart in your travels. You may have heard the old saying that "everything is bigger in Texas," and you could apply this to the number of Walmarts in the state, too. According to 24/7 Wall Street, the Lone Star state boasts an incredible 602 locations.
What makes Texas so special, after all California has a larger population with only half the number of Walmart stores? Restaurant Dive reasons that Texas has a more attractive environment for businesses than the Golden State, which lures chain stores to take advantage of no income tax and looser business restrictions.
A study by Texas Tech University revealed that some Texans believed that smaller businesses should offer a combination of "newer products, additional services, and a frequent shopper program" to help attract customers and compete with the superstore. It seems Walmart has increased people's expectations of what a business should offer.
