The Truth About Anthony Bourdain's Daughter Ariane
By LAUREN CAHN

Anthony Bourdain’s daughter, Ariane, was just 11 at the time of his death in 2018. Bourdain always sought to protect his daughter from the public eye, and even though audiences get to see Ariane for the first time in Morgan Neville’s documentary about Bourdain, "Roadrunner," his wishes will still be honored.

Out of respect for Bourdain and Ariane’s mother, Ottavia Busia-Bourdain, Neville made the decision to minimize Ariane’s presence in the film. He does this by using old photos of her and only including a very brief appearance towards the end of the documentary.

Not long after Bourdain's death, Ottavia shared an Instagram post honoring Bourdain and his loving relationship with Ariane. "Our little girl had her concert today. [...] She wore the boots you bought her," wrote Ottavia. According to Bravo, Bourdain left most of his estate to Ariane.
