The Unexpected Ingredient That Will Majorly Upgrade Your Bloody Mary
By KAREN HART
The go-to cocktail served in every brunch, Bloody Mary uses tomato juice and vodka. Several chefs have their own recipes when it comes to giving this adult drink an added flair. But if you really want to create a Bloody Mary that has your friends talking about it for days, this unexpected ingredient will majorly upgrade your drink.
Old Bay Seasoning is the perfect addition to your Bloody Mary. According to the spice company, the item contains celery salt, paprika and red and black pepper. The reason it’s a perfect addition to the drink is that the celery’s pungent smell and flavor work well against the tomato juice.
Old Bay suggests using this seasoning to “coat the rims” of whatever glass you serve this cocktail in, to use the ingredient when you prepare your next batch of Bloody Mary. But Spiced recommends adding a teaspoon of Old Bay to your Bloody Mary cocktail as well, to get the full effect.
