When a restaurant struggles, there are many obvious reasons like food quality, mediocre menus and decor, and nasty reviews. Robert Irvine says there is another that stands out to him.
The host of “Restaurant: Impossible” says that lack of clear leadership is a problem that impacts most of the restaurants on his show.
Irvine told Insider that the restaurant staff must have a clear hierarchy of roles. Without clear leadership, a restaurant staff can’t function.
Professional kitchens rely on clearly defined roles and responsibilities, but many lack the staffing and training to fill these positions, leading to chaotic meal services.
