This Surprising Hack Will Save Your Wilted Salad
By ERICA ANDREWS
It can truly be frustrating when your salad turns into a wilted mess, but we have some good news. Instead of throwing those wilted leafy greens out, you can, in fact, rescue them with a simple yet brilliant hack.
As cooking teacher and food writer, Sonoko Sakai, puts it, when her leaves need a little love, she puts them in warm water for two to three minutes. She confessed, "I didn't believe it for a long time, but warm water actually works!"
EatingWell, on the other hand, suggests putting your soggy greens in a large bowl of ice water, putting them in the fridge, and letting them sit for 15 to 30 minutes. You can then take the lettuce out and pat it dry with absorbent towels.
