Twitter Is Roasting Ron DeSantis For Waffle House Line Cooking Fail
By TAYLOR HUANG
On October 1, 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was seen serving hash browns in a Florida Waffle House in a video in response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian in parts of Florida. However, DeSantis’ attempt at community service didn’t please the diners, and instead, his efforts resulted in a hilarious video that gained traction on Twitter.
Ron DeSantis visited a Waffle House at Punta Gorda, a city of 20,000 people that was particularly impacted by the storms, to assist in providing food to the affected people. While many expressed appreciation for DeSantis’ attempt to help the staff, others noticed that the governor wasn’t wearing gloves in the clip, which they pointed out on Twitter.
One user wrote, “Chef has gloves on DeSantis does not — hope he washed his hands.” The governor can also be seen shrugging off the help of the aforementioned chef, who tries to instruct on how to flip the hash browns, saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I was doing,” before proceeding to prepare the chain's famous dish.
