What Chopped Winner Kathy Fang Is Up To Now
By AMANDA TARLTON
San Francisco’s Kathy Fang was crowned the "Chopped" champion in the Season 27 episode "Chinese New Year." She said in an interview, "When I won, it was just an incredible moment [...] I felt proud, excited, anxious, and validated all at the same time." As it turns out, she has been up to quite a lot since her big win.
Currently, Fang helps her parents run the Cantonese restaurant House of Nanking, and she's also the co-owner and chef at Fang. A trendy San Francisco restaurant, Fang serves dishes inspired by Northern and Southern Chinese cuisine, and she wants people to “feel happy, blessed and content when they come to eat" there.
After giving birth to her daughter, Fang created her line of organic baby food, Bon Petit, in 2019, and published her first cookbook, "Easy Asian Cookbook: 100+ Takeout Favorites Made Simple," in 2020. She and her husband have also been musing about opening another restaurant in the future, but nothing has officially been announced.
