What Great British Bake Off Winner Sophie Faldo Is Up To Now
by LAUREN WATERS
Sophie Faldo told This Is Money in 2019 that she didn't benefit as much as she could have on "The Great British Bake Off" as she hadn't prepared herself to win.
Still, the baker managed to make it work. She was part of a few baking projects and launched her own initiative, Sophie Faldo Couture Cakes, following her success.
Per Bridebook, Faldo's company makes custom luxury cakes for memorable occasions. However, the company's Instagram account hasn't been updated since February 2022.
Faldo told The Sun, "It would be wonderful to write a patisserie book, but let's see what comes my way. I would like to try traveling the world for inspiration for starters."
In 2018, she became an ambassador for Combat Stress, a non-profit that offers mental health support to veterans with PTSD.
Before the show, Faldo was an Army officer and is still a reservist. She's kept a low profile since her win, telling Netflix it's hard living under the media's "judgmental eye."
Falso says, "I also have a 'normal' job now too." She plans to focus on teaching, but she returned to the food show for "A Very Christmas Bake Off" in December 2023.
