What Robert Irvine Really Thinks About Gordon Ramsay
By REE WINTER
Besides being a successful chef, Robert Irvine is an author, philanthropist, and fitness advocate. Apart from his own snack and protein bar line, the entrepreneur is more famously known for hosting several TV shows — including “Dinner: Impossible” and “Restaurant: Impossible.”
In an interview with Ron Cook and Joe Starky on their radio show “The Cook and Joe Show,” Irvine was asked why celebrity chefs always appear angry on TV, specifically, Gordon Ramsey’s infamous on-screen persona. Irvine responded that “Angry chefs are [...] the old style of a chef.”
Irvine opined, “Gordon Ramsay is not that mean, I don't think,” and went on to say, “I think it's just a camera trick, a game to make people tune in to see what he's going to say next.” Irvine also proceeded to claim that “Restaurant: Impossible” was “the only reality TV show that is real.”
