What's The Meat Suit In Bad Vegan?

The Netflix series "Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives." is a true-crime documentary revolving around the crimes and relationship of “raw vegan queen” Sarma Melngailis and former black-ops soldier Anthony Strangis. The series is executive produced by Chris Smith, the man behind the wildly popular "Tiger King" series.

One of the more eyebrow-raising terms heard in the series trailer was "meat suit." When asked what it meant, former Pure Food and Wine restaurant manager Bonnie Crocker revealed it was entirely different from what Lady Gaga wore at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

In the series, Vanity Fair journalist Allen Salkin shared that Strangis used the term "meat suit" to refer to the weight he gained during his marriage to Melngailis. Strangis claimed the “meat suit” was intentional and was one of a series of "tests" he'd created so she could prove her loyalty to him.
