Why Trisha Yearwood Cried After Making Her Mother's Potato Salad For The First Time
By MARGARET MCCORMICK

Country star Trisha Yearwood is not only an accomplished singer but a famous home cook. She has starred in the long-running Food Network show “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen” and has written cookbooks, all thanks to her mother.

Yearwood started cooking when she moved to Nashville and admitted she started making her way into the kitchen to taste her mother's cooking, which sometimes makes her emotional. The TV chef told Southern Living once she tried to make her mom’s potato salad and cried when it tasted like hers, adding “that reminder of home was comforting."

Trisha Yearwood's recipe for potato salad calls for just six ingredients: potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, salt, and pepper. It may or may not be her mother’s recipe, but it sure sounds like one her mother would love.
