Why You Should Think Twice About Buying Clancy's Chips At Aldi
By ASHLEY STEINBERG
In a blind taste test, Taste of Home declared Clancy’s potato chips to be the “best overall chip” because of their good fried-potato flavor and not having too much salt. However, despite this opinion, Clancy’s potato chips from Aldi seem to have gotten some horrible reviews; here’s why.
Among the several complaints lodged against the brand on the consumer complaint website Pissed Consumer, many reviewers noted their chips had turned to crumbs before they even opened the bag, while one person found regular kettle chips inside a bag that said “salt and vinegar.”
Although Aldi chips are presented as look-alikes and inexpensive alternatives to more popular brands, Clancy’s is still plagued by multiple issues like inconsistency and poor quality. Per Kiplinger, consumers are better off buying the $2.98 bag of Doritos over the 89-cent bag of Clancy’s chips.
