Here's What We Know About Supermarket Stakeout's Season 5 Return

The newest season of Food Network's "Supermarket Stakeout" will premiere on Tuesday, April 25. This season has a whole new batch of professional chefs duking it out in front of supermarkets under the watchful eye of host Alex Guarnaschelli. Armed with $500 a piece, contestants will have a new set of challenges in the three-round competition. The themes of all the episodes have not been released yet, but here is what we know so far.

The first episode, "Passport to the Parking Lot" has an international flare hinting at influences from Italy, Morocco, and France. In Episode 2 of Season 5, chefs will "Steak Your Claim" with a steakhouse-based challenge sans steaks and diner-inspired sweet treats for the dessert round. "A Bittersweet Tale" is the title for Episode 3, which Rotten Tomatoes says has a "high-sodium start," so we can only assume salt will be featured in some way. Episode 4, "Parking Lots Are For Lovers," heads in a romantic direction with a budget-friendly date challenge and a special dish worthy of a first date. The last episode that we have information on throws it "Back To The Food-ture" where some old-school favorites are definitely on the menu.
