The TikTok Hack For Getting Orange Chicken At Chick-Fil-A

Unless you're going to Panda Express, orange chicken isn't typically synonymous with fast food. However, thanks to a TikTok video, we now know that you can enjoy this dish at Chick-fil-A. Well, sort of. The person in the video, who appears to be a Chick-fil-A employee, demonstrates this tangy hack by pouring chicken nuggets into a clear plastic container. She then tops the nuggets off with two different kinds of Chick-fil-A sauce before closing the lid and shaking the container to mix the sauces with the chicken.

The result? It looks just like orange chicken, but the more important question is, does it taste like orange chicken? A recipe for Chinese orange chicken typically includes a mixture of orange juice, garlic, sugar, vinegar, ginger, soy sauce, orange zest, and red chili flakes. Chick-fil-A doesn't have any sauces that contain all of these ingredients, so she had to improvise.

In the comments, she reveals that she used Chick-fil-A's sweet and spicy sriracha sauce (for a sweet, tangy, spicy flavor), combined with the honey roasted BBQ sauce (for a sweet and smoky flavor). She takes a bite after shaking the container for a few seconds, and immediately gives the concoction two thumbs up.

Viewers loved the sauce combo, and a YouTuber created his own version of the dish

The TikTok comments on this DIY orange chicken video range from, "Smart girl! Love this idea ... Why have I never thought of this?" to "OMG" to "Yesss." But a few viewers seemed more excited about the sauce combination, sans chicken. "You missin' the Mac and fries to go with it," one person said. "That'll be fire on a salad," added another.

This isn't the first time someone has made orange chicken from Chick-fil-A chicken. Tiny Kitchen Big Taste's Michael Fucci whipped up his own version of an orange chicken dish using Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets at home. His version seems closer to the real deal, though, since it includes orange juice and soy sauce, but it also includes Chick-fil-A Polynesian sauce and the same sriracha sauce that the TikToker used.

And if you want to make things really interesting, you could always mix all three of those aforementioned Chick-fil-A sauces for an even more flavorful result. Plus, Chick-fil-A even sells orange juice, so you can make your own version of a tangy orange chicken dish without having to step foot in your kitchen. It may not taste exactly like true Asian orange chicken, but if you're already a fan of the chain's chicken and sauces, you probably won't mind.
