The Celebrity Chef Ina Garten Is Most Jealous Of

On paper, it certainly seems like Ina Garten has it all. The celeb chef is not only a New York Times best-selling author with 13 cookbooks under her belt, but she is also host to the Emmy Award-winning cooking program "Barefoot Contessa" which, after 28 seasons, is the Food Network's "longest-running daytime program," according to Daytime Confidential. Before finding fame, Garten also ran a successful specialty food store in the Hamptons for 18 years that she explains on her website she happened to purchase on a whim after spending the first part of her professional life working at the White House.

As for her personal life, Garten and her husband, Jeffrey, have an envy-invoking love story that spans more than 50 years and includes frequent trips to Paris, where the couple owns a gorgeous apartment in the 7th Arrondissement (via Food Network). And, of course, we can't forget to mention Garten's circle of famous friends which includes Katie Couric, Jennifer Garner, and Taylor Swift.

Needless to say, the Food Network personality is living a life that many of us can only dream of. However, that's not to say that Garten doesn't find herself feeling a bit envious of others in her field. During a recent interview with CBS News, the professional cook admitted to experiencing a bit of jealousy towards one of her fellow Food Network stars – and you may be surprised who it is.

Ina Garten envies Bobby Flay's restaurant experience

Despite not having any professional training, Ina Garten has made quite a name for herself in the culinary world. Yet, even with all of her success, she doesn't always feel completely confident in the kitchen. "I know people don't believe this. But I'm an incredibly nervous cook. And I'm sure every recipe's gonna turn out wrong. So I'm incredibly precise," she explained during a recent appearance on CBS News' "60 Minutes."

Garten continued, noting that even to this day she follows her own recipes to a tee to ensure she gets the dish right. And while the strategy clearly works for her, the cookbook author also revealed that she feels jealous of Bobby Flay. "People like Bobby Flay have worked in restaurant kitchens all [their] life. And he can just throw things together. You know, I've watched him. And he's such a brilliant cook. I'm not that person. I didn't have that experience," she said.

While we can't deny that Flay possesses some pretty impressive talents in the kitchen, she and Flay do share a number of accolades, including being recipients of a prestigious James Beard Award. Garten doesn't let her jealousy get in the way of their relationship, either. In fact, it seems that what Garten ultimately feels for Flay is admiration. "He blows me away," she told Food Network.
