Kate Middleton Stays Up Late For This Birthday Cake Tradition

Have you ever wondered how the royals really celebrate their birthdays? It's safe to assume that their celebrations aren't exactly like an average Joe's, but apparently Kate Middleton does incorporate a familiar birthday tradition that we all know and love. The famous family, undoubtedly surrounded by personal chefs, often lean towards healthy eating with homegrown foods to utilize in their daily diets.

While Queen Elizabeth reportedly loved her chocolate and a simple breakfast consisting of tea and some biscuits, Middleton revealed that a morning green juice, raw fish, and pasta dishes often sustain her throughout the day. The Princess of Wales is said to lead a nutritious lifestyle by taking a liking to goji berries and olives as a pre-meal snack. According to Eat This, Not That!, Middleton follows a primarily plant-based diet but doesn't classify herself as vegetarian. Now that we know what the royal really eats in a day we are left wondering — what do their birthday menus look like?

Middleton loves making her children's cake

Hello! reports that Kate Middleton puts sleep aside on her children's birthdays in order to bake them a birthday cake. "I love making the cake. It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much," the Princess of Wales said to Mary Berry on "A Berry Royal Christmas." "But I love it," she added.

This is not the first time Middleton has been said to cook with her three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Instagram account for Prince William and Princess Kate recently posted an adorable reel of the family baking cupcakes for their local community. According to the Belfast Telegraph, William claimed that baking was a constant activity for the family during quarantine. Who knew the royal family was filled with so many cooks in the kitchen!
