Even though this variety of Skittles was discontinued for 15 years, it's making a comeback with a new recipe and improved flavors. If you do not remember the original version of Skittles Smoothies, then let us refresh your memory. They came in a peach-colored bag and included a variety of classic smoothie flavors. Specifically, it featured Strawberry Banana, Lemon Berry, Mixed Berry, Peach Pear, and Orange Mango. The new flavors sound so good too, though, and some are even the same as — or pretty similar to — the original five flavors (via Delish). However, we'll have to let you decide which is your favorite after you try them.
What you need to know about the new version of Skittles Smoothies
The first thing you might notice about the new Skittles Smoothies is the new light pink package that will make these Skittles easy to spot. There's plenty more to learn about this candy ahead of its nationwide release in early August. The new pack will be comprised of Strawberry Banana, Raspberry, Blueberry, Peach Guava, and Mango. It sounds like the perfect combination of classic smoothie flavors and tropical flavors that bring colorful smoothie bowls to mind.
Another thing about the new Skittles Smoothies is the new recipe. It's still a dairy-free candy, but there's a new ingredient that helps the candy achieve that signature creamy yogurt flavor you typically expect from a smoothie. When the new yogurt-flavored ingredient is combined with the fruit-flavored ingredients, the candy apparently blends into a perfect smoothie-like balance.
It's also worth noting that the new Skittles Smoothies will come in three sizes. There's a "Singles" serving that is 1.76 ounces, a "Share" size that is 4 ounces, and a "Sharing" size that is the largest at 15.6 ounces. You'll clearly have plenty of options to choose from so you and all of your friends can try every last flavor in the bag.
