How Much You Need To Spend To Reach Chick-Fil-A's Red Status

Fried chicken fast food chain Chick-fil-A has been praised by Delish as having one of the best restaurant loyalty programs of 2020. The company's Chick-fil-A One initiative boasts a three-tiered membership program that gives points for every dollar spent at the chain, plus free food on your birthday. As you make purchases and rise up in the ranks, you get added bonuses and perks like extra points for your money and the chance to win huge prizes given out by the company.

Wondering how much you'll have to spend to reach the highest rank in the Chick-fil-A loyalty program and prove you're a true fan? Metro did the calculations for each membership level. They found that, based on the information provided by Chick-fil-A, you will have to spend around $90 per year to collect 1,000 points and reach the middle status of Silver Member. To become a Red Member, the program's highest level, you will have to achieve 5,000 points by spending around $417 in total. That's a lot of waffle fries.

Even at its lowest tier, a Chick-fil-A One membership promises free food

Are the perks worth it? Well, it depends on what you're looking for. The Chick-fil-A website explains how the membership program works. The most basic level gets you 10 points per dollar spent, free food on your birthday, and random surprises at your local Chick-fil-A. The silver tier (which you will reach once you've spent $90 per year, as stated above) really only comes with the added bonuses of an extra point per dollar spent and being able to gift your rewards to friends and family members. The red tier is really the most exciting one to reach (at around $417 per year) which adds another point per dollar spent to the silver tier, bringing you to 12 points per dollar, and giving you the chance to win special prizes like tickets to the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame, according to Delish.

If you'd like to join the Chick-fil-A One program, you will have to create an account online or download the Chick-fil-A app. You can place orders which will count towards your points total online, through the app, or by scanning your Chick-fil-A QR code at the counter or the drive-through. It doesn't hurt to join even if you aren't that excited about the rewards, as it costs nothing to create an account and you can earn points towards free food by simply eating at Chick-fil-A. Who doesn't enjoy a free meal every once in a while?
