Dan Levy Just Revealed His Worst Quarantine Baking Fails

Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy is appearing in People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive Issue 2020, and while his face, talent, and personality may fit the bill, what about his baking skills? Let's just say he's no Joy Wilson.

Describing his quarantine activities to People, he said, "I was trying different pasta sauces, I was making breads, I was baking cookies. I did the Levain bakery chocolate chip cookies that I found the recipe online, and they weren't quite as good. I did a banana bread recipe that a friend swore by, and then I made it, and it wasn't quite as good. And then, I did a sourdough bread that turned out like a really heavy, dense brick." So yeah, he's a little more Nailed It! than Cake Boss.

In summation, he reflects, "None of these inspiring exercises in the kitchen worked out for me. All it did for me was remind myself that I should be saving my money and putting it towards ordering food so that someone can do it for me."

Dan Levy is more of an eater than a baker

Dan Levy may not be amazing at baking, but he's got the other side of the transaction down pat. As he teased to a CBC interviewer on set of the Great Canadian Baking Show, which Levy co-hosted (via YouTube), "I'm very good at eating baked goods." Also, as indicated by a taste-test compilation on CBC Life's Facebook, Levy may not bake a very good cookie, but he sure can appreciate one.

While his baking skills may not be up to par, he has other talents (beyond his obvious talents in acting, comedy, and facial symmetry) — he makes a mean cocktail. "I was doing Negronis, Manhattans and I have been trying to perfect a Cosmopolitan," he told People. "It's my favorite cocktail. Sex and the City aside, it's a very refreshing beverage. But there's an alchemy to a Cosmopolitan that needs to be just right, otherwise it does not taste good. So, I have continually been trying to perfect the Cosmopolitan on the rocks in a tumbler, not a martini glass."
