Everything You Need To Know About Chipotle's Latest Contest
"You've perfected your Chipotle order," reads the Chipotle Royalty contest page. "Now share it on TikTok for a chance to get paid $10,000 and have your go-to entrée become a featured digital menu item."
The contest, announced yesterday, invites Chipotle fans to create a TikTok video showing off how their usual order is the best possible order, tagging the video with #chipotleroyalty and #contest. Three lucky winners will receive $10,000, and their orders will appear as options on the chain's digital menu. Entrants better act fast — the contest ends tomorrow, November 19, at 11:59 PT, so hopefuls need to get out their cameras and start ordering stat if they want the chance to be officially named as Chipotle royalty (and, of course, to get the $10,000).
By the way, this isn't one of those "they tell you that you get $10,000, but after taxes it's more like $7,000" prizes. Chiptole will also send winners a "Tax Gross-Up Payment" to pay any taxes related to the prize.
How the judging at Chipotle works
According to the press release, the submissions will be judged by Chipotle Executive Chef Chad Brauze and YouTuber David Dobrik. Dobrik was the first celebrity to get a Chipotle menu item named after his go-to order on National Burrito Day last year. They're going to have to judge quickly because they have to comment on the winners' posts the day after the contest ends. Winners' orders will be available on the Chipotle app and at Chipotle.com on December 1st, and they'll stay up through the end of the year. You can check out Dobrik's video announcing the contest at his TikTok, @daviddobrik.
"With more than four million possible menu item combinations, Chipotle fans are extremely passionate about their individual orders," Chief Marketing Officer Chris Brandt says in the release. "Our fans are as unique as their orders and we look forward to hearing their stories and immortalizing a few of them as Chipotle Royalty."
