Have you heard the latest from the golden arches? McDonald's has recently introduced a "chicken pack" that, true to its name, is packed with chicken, per Snopes. The bundle comes with four McChicken sandwiches, four medium fries, and a 20-piece chicken McNugget. But, the contents aren't exactly the thing that has everyone talking. It's the fine print TikTok user chey.lea spotted on one McDonald's drive-thru menu, which said this meal deal serves two.
That can't be right, can it? TikTok user joshcookz appropriately asked, "Serves two what?" Families? Two Families?" And, user nicoleemick claimed, "That would feed my entire family of six, to be honest." So, did someone forget to proofread the McDonald's menu or is this suggested serving size for real? The fact-checkers at Snopes caught wind of this controversy and did some digging to help determine whether it's actually a typo or not, and the answer might surprise you.
McDonald's 'chicken pack' serving size seems to be for real
To figure out whether McDonald's chicken pack is meant to be an option for your next date night or whether it's supposed to satisfy an entire houseful of people, Snopes turned to Facebook. There, they found an Illinois McDonald's advertising this new offering and lo and behold, the ad says it serves two people. Okay, fine. So, how many calories are we talking about here? Snopes did the math and reported that four McChicken sandwiches, four medium fries, and 20 McNuggets (with no additional sauces) clocks in at 3,710 calories. Split between two people, that's 1,855 calories per person. Depending on who you are, that's as much or more than the 1,600 to 3,000 calories you need in an entire day, (per the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services).
For those that still claim they can crush this chicken pack all on their own, take it from YouTuber ItsKenny — you can't. Or at least you probably shouldn't try. Despite a valiant effort to devour this smorgasbord of fast food, ItsKenny threw in the towel with nine McNuggets remaining and said, "I don't ever want to see McDonald's ever again." Listen, we know McDonald's fries are delicious, and their McNuggets are some of the best around. But, unless you hope to turn yourself off from Mickey D's forever, we suggest enjoying its chicken pack in moderation, preferably shared amongst friends.
