Aldi Shoppers Are Obsessed With This Fruity Pico De Gallo

Aldi's deli aisle is a great place to find deals on delicious dips, hummuses, salsas, and just about any other tasty sauce or side that has tons of flavor. And its pico de gallo is no exception. While even the traditional salsa fresca adds a boost to many dishes, Aldi also offers two fruity variants, one mango and one tomato, that can really kick even the most simple meals up a notch or two.

The popular Aldi fan account aldi.mademedoit posted on Instagram, "Let's taco 'bout which pico de Gallo you would choose!! The mango is calling my name! They look so refreshing and perfect...Which one would you grab?" If social media is to be believed, the mango pico de gallo is clearly the favorite. One social media user replied, "LOVE the mango one! I eat it on wraps with Aldis sundried tomato wrap, their deli chicken, avocado and romaine."

Aldi's mango and tomato pico de gallos could also have health benefits

Another Instagram user even suggested a new recipe commenting, "Sometimes I use mango pico de gallo instead of regular pico de gallo when making homemade guacamole and mix in some tajin instead of salt – it's not my favorite but it's definitely an interesting variant!" The fruit definitely adds a surprisingly sweet kick to any dish, as well as some additional health benefits. Mango is packed with antioxidants and nutrients, and has been known to boost immunity, improve digestive and heart health, and even reduce the risk of certain cancers, according to Healthline.

While the mango pico de gallo is a surefire crowd-pleaser, it doesn't seem like anyone is too disappointed with the tomato, either. Many people responded to the post with a similar sentiment with one Instagram user writing they wanted, "BOTH PLEASE!!" Shoppers seem to be fans of both flavors, and simply pick one over the other depending on the dish. One wrote, "I use the tomato one in my chili and the mango for fish tacos."

From a health standpoint, you can't go wrong with either one. Tomato is also a highly nutritious, low-calorie fruit that is a great source of fiber, beta carotene, and nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, folate, and vitamin K, per Healthline. Both the mango and tomato versions are a healthy, great tasting addition to any meal, so there really is no reason not to grab both the next time you're in Aldi.
