Sad News For Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House Fans
Chick-fil-A means many things to different people. For some, it's the perfect place to go to if they are searching for comfort food and for others, it's a restaurant that has lots of memories attached to it. The loyalists are also familiar with the Chick-fil-A Dwarf House, an institution as old as the brand itself. The first official Dwarf House was opened back in 1946. According to the Chick-fil-A website, the brand's founder, Truett Cathy truly got to work on the Dwarf House concept years later. As the brand's website explains, "Since the late 1980s, the Dwarf House has provided customers with a historical perspective on Chick-fil-A."
Basically, the Dwarf House is inspired by Cathy's first eatery and has several options for meals. You can expect to find the usual Chick-fil-A favorites coupled with options like Fried Okra, Green Beans, and more. You can also look forward to rare items, like hamburgers, if you are at a Dwarf House. There are several locations throughout the country, by the way.
But hold on. Things are set to change. If you have been a Dwarf House fan all along, here's what you should know.
Things are about to change for Dwarf House
The Woodstock Dwarf House is set to be replaced. According to a report by What Now Atlanta, a different concept will be tested at this location, essentially transforming it into a museum. A statement from Chick-fil-A read, "The Woodstock Dwarf House will be closing for a full remodel in March [2021] and will be rebranded as Truett's Chick-fil-A Woodstock, reopening later this year." The statement added that guests can expect to be treated to a completely new look coupled with more room for guests at the eatery. Furthermore, the company has plans to remodel many other Dwarf Houses as it experiments with the new concept.
As for employees at the Woodstock Dwarf House, they will have the chance to take up alternative work options with the company while the place is being refurbished. Reddit users are not too pleased with the latest update, however. One commenter wrote that, while they are not opposed to the new concept, they definitely cannot help but harbor a soft spot for Dwarf Houses. They wrote, "Yeah it looks nice but the dwarf house is so classic and cool, man."
Another Redditor voiced their disapproval and wrote that they would at least like the original Hapeville outlet to be left untouched. Sigh. While change is not always easy, we hope this new direction will make the Dwarf House experience even better in the long run.
