National Margarita Day 2021: Where To Get The Best Food Freebies And Deals

If you're someone who can't resist a weekly margarita at your local Tex-Mex restaurant, then your day is coming. Apparently, February 22nd is National Margarita Day (via National Today). This year, it happens to fall on a Monday quite possibly making it one of the best Mondays in a long time. While there are tons of local deals and discounts from Las Vegas and Forth Worth to Atlanta and Wichita that you'll want to check in on, there are plenty of deals at chains to celebrate the day of all things tequila and lime.

But if you decide to stay home and make your own margaritas, you should know that Late July Snacks has partnered with actress and cookbook author Tia Mowry, according to a press release received by Mashed. Everyone knows you have to have chips and salsa while you sip margaritas, that's why Mowry developed a new avocado and mango pico de gallo recipe that's perfect with Late July's organic restaurant-style sea salt and lime tortilla chips (via Instagram). However, if you are planning to go out or order out for the holiday, there are some chain deals you should know about for National Margarita Day.

Don't miss these margarita deals from your favorite chains

According to Living on the Cheap, there are a handful of national chains that are celebrating this year. Applebee's locations in the Dallas and Fort Worth area will offer their 10-ounce margarita, the Dollarita, for, you guessed it, one dollar. Chili's is celebrating with their margarita of the month, the Grand Romance 'Rita, made with Grand Marnier, Lunazul Tequila, and Monin Pomegranate, which is just $5 per glass. However, your local Chili's could be running additional deals too. Next up, Mellow Mushroom is offering three different margaritas and a $10 large cheese pizza to go with their celebratory cocktail.

Fuzzy's Taco Shop will definitely be celebrating National Margarita Day, but the deals will vary by location (via Twitter). So pop into the chain's location nearest you to see what they'll be serving up. Meanwhile, the Caribbean-inspired restaurant Bahama Breeze will also be serving up $5 Classic Margaritas all day on February 22nd. On the Border is another chain to check out for the margarita holiday. They'll have their 1800 Grande 'Rita for $5, though there are plenty of other flavored margaritas you can choose from too. So double-check with your favorite chains to see what's on their specials board for the day.

You won't want to miss this margarita sculpture

If you are lucky enough to live near a Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville location, then the decision as to where you should celebrate should be clear. You can sip on $3.99 margaritas and listen to your favorite hits all at the same time. Not to mention, they'll have other deals on the menu too. Fans can also enter the chain's prize package for National Margarita Day which includes a Margaritaville cookbook and a Margaritaville Key West Frozen Concoction Maker (via Margaritaville).

If you live in colder climates, then you can likely empathize with the founder of National Margarita Day, Todd McCalla of Ohio. He just wanted a reason to drink margaritas with his friends during the wintertime, and here we are. That's why Jose Cuervo has partnered with him to celebrate this year. They're creating a "Snowmarg" which will be a sculpture of McCalla holding a Jose Cuervo margarita that stands eight feet tall and 16 feet wide. The sculpture will even pour out real frozen Cuervo margaritas. For everyone else, fans can comment #ThanksTodd on Jose Cuervo's social media platforms between February 19th and 22nd to get $8 via PayPal from the brand. Apparently, that's the average cost of a margarita, so you can have one on Jose Cuervo, thanks to Todd McCalla this year.

However you choose to celebrate this year, make sure you have snacks and plenty of ice. Regardless, no one will be able to top McCalla's margarita sculpture.
