This Person Has The Largest Collection Of Fast Food Toys In The World

What comes to your mind when someone talks about fast food toys? Do you end up reliving a flood of memories from your childhood, going back to the good old days when it gave you immense happiness to find a new toy inside a box of scrumptious fast food items at your favorite eatery? Well, a man took his love for those toys very seriously and ended up setting a world record somewhere along the way. No kidding.

According to Guinness World Records, the record for owning the "largest collection of fast food restaurant toys" was achieved by a man from the Philippines named Percival R.Luge in 2014. Luge's collection is no laughing matter: He had 10,000 toys at the time he set the world record and by his own estimate, the collection has now expanded to include at least 20,000 toys. This has been a lifelong hobby as far as Luge is concerned (via Vice). He first started adding toys to his collection in the 1980s. "I don't think I can pass on an experience in a fast food restaurant without me buying a fast-food toy. That's a non-negotiable," Luge once said.

He has a different house for his toys

According to Vice, Percival R.Luge did wonder many years ago whether he should quit collecting on account of financial constraints, but he simply could not stop himself from adding to his collection whenever he visited a fast food outlet. He had access to toys from two restaurants near him, McDonald's and a local brand named Jollibee. Of course, the expanding collection of toys meant there was barely any room left in his home. He also asked his close buddies to get fast food toys for him whenever they visited him from other countries.

This prompted Luge's family to get another house just for the toys. Luge even has a name for it: "The Happy Meal House." He compared it to visiting Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and said, "It's a stone's throw away from our house, and I love going there because it really brings back a lot of fond memories."

As for the world record itself, Luge mentioned that he never even thought about it until a friend saw his collection and was impressed. This motivated him to apply for a world record in 2014. This is how Luge was declared to be the first person ever to own such a massive collection of fast food toys. By the way, the largest toy he owns is a stuffed cow from Chick-fil-A.
