The Tragic Death Of Guy Fieri's Sister

Television personality, Guy Fieri, has been dazzling fans for a long time with his culinary prowess. According to Insider, Fieri owes part of his success to his parents for teaching him to love food when he was just a kid. "My dad was the one who probably had the most influence on me cooking because he would always challenge me to try different things," he explained. The "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" host was also really close to his sister, Morgan, but an early childhood experience changed him in more ways than one.

According to Delish, Morgan was diagnosed with cancer as a child, something that left a deep impact on the celebrity chef. Fieri was especially taken aback by the amount of love and support they received as a family through her sickness. He said that he was incredibly moved when local football stars and strangers offered help to their family. While his sister did end up recovering, she sadly passed away many years later.

Her battle with cancer was a recurrent one

As reported by Delish, Morgan and her family were in for tough times when she discovered that she had metastatic melanoma at just 38. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it and passed away just a year after her diagnosis in 2011. Morgan's experiences motivated Fieri to support others fighting cancer and support them in different ways. He took it upon himself to call Make-A-Wish Foundation to invite families to tapings of his show to help cheer them up.

"I know what the family is going through, to some degree," Fieri said. "I know that heartache and I see that, and if there's anything I can do to help enlighten or empower those kids, I want to do it." He also recently remembered his sister on Instagram with a heartwarming post. "Miss you my sister Morgan," he wrote. "You continue to inspire us all. We love you! Namaste."
