This Employee-Made Deep-Fried Chick-Fil-A Sandwich Is Turning Heads

If you're a fan of fried chicken sandwiches — emphasis on the fried — this creation from one Chick-fil-A employee will have you salivating (via Reddit). At first glance, the sandwich, which was appropriately given the name "The Deep Fried Bread Chicken Sandwich" appears to be a copycat version of the KFC Double Down, a limited-edition sandwich that uses fried chicken as the bread bun. However, upon closer examination, the bun of the Chick-fil-A creation is actually still a bun, just one that has been coated in the fried chicken batter, then deep-fried.

According to the Chick-fil-A employee, who goes by jayninja114 on Reddit, it was his cousin who came up with the idea for the sandwich, which he then brought into fruition during a late night shift. While that unfortunately means you won't be able to get it off the official menu of your local Chick-fil-A, there's nothing stopping you from ordering a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich, then jazzing it up for yourself at home. The recipe is made up of only two components, fried chicken and bread, and apparently it tastes pretty delicious.

Both customers and employees like to get creative with Chick-fil-A menu items

Chick-fil-A employee jayninja114 isn't the first to experiment with the restaurant's food, nor will he be the last. If you've ever scrolled through the TikTok app, chances are you've come across at least one "nugget salad." To make a nugget salad, you add the large waffle fries, the 12-piece chicken nuggets, and the dressing or dipping sauce of your choosing into an empty salad container, then shake it until all the ingredients are combined. Some customers even incorporate the mac and cheese.

According to jayninja114, employees often take part in food mashups, too. "We have made so many weird things like mac inside of a filet or bacon wrapped filet. A few biscuit donuts with different types of glaze, buffalo sauce grilled sandwiches, fried mac (probably my favorite)," jayninja114 wrote in the thread. "The things you can make are crazy. My operator is gracious enough to let us make that stuff and even try that stuff. All of it turned out really good too." Clearly, with the whole Chick-fil-A menu at your disposal, the options are endless.
