Martha Stewart Just Clapped Back At An Instagram Troll

Since 2011, the Wall Street Journal Magazine has been holding an annual awards ceremony to honor a select group of "groundbreaking talents from a range of disciplines, including fashion, art, entertainment, architecture, design, technology, the performing arts, philanthropy, food, literature and more" (via the WSJ Innovator Awards). And on the night of November 1, 2021, the magazine held its 2021 Innovator Awards at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City with a star-studded guest list that included Demi Moore, Emily Ratajkowski, Karlie Kloss, and Martha Stewart, all of whom were there to celebrate the considerable accomplishments of Kim Kardashian, Fendi designer Kim Jones, actor Ryan Reynolds, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, rapper Lil Nas X, the television show "Sesame Street," and more.

As it happened, it appears that Stewart, a perennial innovator in her own right, found herself so bowled over by the event and its honorees that she took the time to post an elaborate photo-spread on Instagram in which she captured every honoree onstage as well as a group shot of them. Now, you might think that Stewart's followers would be grateful for this window into the event. And certainly, many did seem appreciative. But one notable exception came from an Instagram user by the name of Tyler, who seemed to feel it necessary to pick on Stewart's photography skills. Read on to see how Stewart clapped back at her Insta-troll.

Martha Stewart's response was so very Martha

Martha Stewart is regarded by many as the ultimate authority on all things hospitality, home-entertaining, and homemaking, and clearly, the sassy co-host of "Martha And Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party" knows a thing or two about etiquette. So, when she posted a number of photos to her Instagram account that she had taken while in the audience at the 2021 Wall Street Journal Innovators Awards only to have a cranky Instagrammer criticize the quality of said photos, Stewart handled it with all of the grace and aplomb that we have come to expect.

"Martha please buy yourself an iPhone 13 pro max," snarked Instagram user @tyler.ca.bc. "Love you, but we need better quality photos." And what was Stewart's response? While she could have ignored it or replied with something equally snarky such as "You're welcome, dude," Stewart clapped back at her troll in the most "Martha" of ways. She simply clarified that it was neither the camera, the phone, nor the skills of the photographer at issue, but rather, the fact that Stewart was taking the photos from a distance. "I was taking these from 400 ft away!!!!!!!!!" she explained.
