Red Lobster's New 10 Under $10 Menu Takes A Bite Out Of Lunch Cost
Red Lobster has made a name for itself by carving out a place in middle-class dining all across America, and of course, by cranking out basket after basket of those delectable cheddar bay biscuits, 395 million to be exact. Often found in mall complexes and suburban areas, Red Lobster is incredibly popular and accessible to many people sprawled all over the country, contributing to its cult-like following. According to The New York Post, several celebrities like Chris Rock, Anna Nicole Smith, Edvin Thompson, and Nicki Minaj are even alums of the Red Lobster nation. What lovers of the chain might not know, though, is the founder Bill Darden, who also founded another mainstay of chain dining: Olive Garden (via First We Feast).
Since starting out as one seafood restaurant in Lakeland, Florida, in 1968, Red Lobster now boasts over 700 locations on the official Red Lobster website. Unfortunately, it hasn't been all smooth sailing over the years. The chain has come under fire for misleading claims about their sustainable shellfish, with a class-action lawsuit filed in 2021. The suit alleges that Red Lobster actually sources shrimp and lobster from suppliers that use environmentally harmful practices (via Top Class Actions).

Red Lobster is known for its deals and promotions like the infamous Lobsterfest and Endless Shrimp, among many other popular dishes. Lobsterfest has been hugely popular, featuring a limited-time special menu that showcases Red Lobster's namesake in things like a seafood boil and combinations plates featuring lobster tails and lobster pasta, among other items. Now, Red Lobster has released a new promotion aimed at the lunch crowd.
The new 10 under $10 deal features 10 menu items all under $10 each, reports Thrillist. The menu items that fall under the promotion are Popcorn Shrimp, Crispy Clam Strips, Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Crispy Cod Sandwich, Oven Broiled Wild-Caught Flounder, Crispy Wild-Caught Flounder, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Classic Caeser Salad with chicken or shrimp, and the Soup, Salad, and Cheddar Bay Biscuits combo according to the Red Lobster lunch menu. However, the specific dishes that are available can vary by location. The 10 under $10 is only available Monday through Friday from opening until 3 p.m. at participating locations.
